Open up your ubuntu terminal and open the file ~/.bashrc and add the following line: export DISPLAY="$(grep '^nameserver ' /etc/nf | cut -d' ' -f2):0" Since our IPv4 address can change from time to time, it’s important that this is set dynamically. The 0 is the default sequence number (see here for more info). It’s important that we set the DISPLAY environment variable to XXX.XX.XX.X:0 where XXX.X is the local IPv4 address of the computer (rather than the Virtual Machine itself).
